- The 1906 Black Coupage is a strong black lager that has prominent notes of coffee, baker’s chocolate and liquorice from the “coupage” of four roasted malts. Made using A Coruña’s city water, a coupage of four traditionally floor malted Czech barley malts, and Nugget and Sladek hops and Hijos de Rivera’s own yeast strain.
Appearance: Black colour, with copper and ruby shades.
Taste: Intense and lasting bitter caracter combined with subtle liquorice and coca notes in the background.
Aroma: Roasted aromas reminiscent of malts and coffee.
Food Pairing: Grilled Buffalo with mole, lamb kabobs with spices and fresh mint and BBQ pork belly. Tiramisu, flourless chocolate cake and bica.
